Nathan Briggs's Ghost
When Nathan Briggs's wife is diagnosed with terminal breast cancer, he sells his third-generation antiques business in New York City to give her what she has always wanted: a home in the country. They find a 19th-century house in upstate New York, in the foothills of the Adirondacks, and set about restoring it.
After his wife dies, Nathan — still considered an outsider by his neighbours — decides to remain in the house they brought back to life together. It is then that he discovers his new housekeeper is either a severely troubled woman, a figment of his imagination, or — as she insists — a woman who died in childbirth a hundred years before Nathan was born.
